The origin of apsrtc dates back to June1932, when it was first established as NSR-RTD (Nizam State Rail & Road Transport Department), a wing of Nizam State Railway in the erstwhile Hyderabad State, with 27 buses and 166 employees. During the past 77 years, it has registered a steady growth from 27 to 21,455buses with 767 bus stations, 202 Depots and 1,880 bus shelters and now its got apsrtc online reservation.

The Corporation's buses cover 77.10 lakhs KMs. and carry 144.13 lakhs people to their destinations every day. They connect 24,336 villages to all major towns and cities in A.P which constitutes 95% of road transport. apsrtc operates to City and Mofussil areas. The Corporation's buses also ply to important towns and cities in the neighboring states of Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa, Orissa and Chattisgarh.

the steps to apsrtc online reservation
A passenger who requires to book ticket in apsrtc online reservation has to visit APSRTC Reservation counter or any Authorized Ticket Booking Agent's counter.

There is a printed "Integrated requisition form for reservation/cancellation/ postponement/ preponement".
The Passenger has to fill up the columns of the form and present it before the reservation clerk/ATB Agent along with fare amount.
Credit card facility has been introduced to enable advance reservation of tickets on the strength of credit cards and has been implemented at MGBS/Hyderabad and JBS/Secunderabad w.e.f. 1.12.2001 duly having a tie up with Citi-Bank.

Facility to buy tickets on production of credit cards at reservation counters at MGBS, (Hyderabad ) and JBS (Secunderabad).

All Master / Visa Cards are accepted.

No need to pay service charges by Credit Card holders.

Exclusive Reservation Counters are provided for Credit card holders to save time.
This facility is being extended to Bangalore, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam cities.
